Superman

The abdominal toning exercise known as the Superman probably gets its name from the original comic book figure, whose flying pose is well known to many people. The Superman is one of a number of abdominal workouts that require no external equipment but may be worthwhile for folks who wish to strengthen and flatten belly muscles through the means of consistent exercise habits. Below we will go over how the Superman is performed.

To do the Superman one must get into a kneeling position with the palms on the ground at shoulders’ width apart and knees on the ground at hips’ width apart. From this position, the individual contracts his or her abdominal muscles and lifts the right arm outward so that it is pointed horizontally and stretches the left leg backward so that it, too, is pointed horizontally. In the process, the individual must keep his or her body still, refraining from swaying to one side or the other. After the Superman position is assumed, the individual returns to the kneeling position, repeating it with the left arm and right leg. The more slowly the motion is done, the harder the Superman will be and the greater its potential to help flatten the belly region through muscle toning.
