Prone Cobra

Its name might seem a bit odd, but the Prone Cobra is a fairly straightforward abdominal toning exercise that individuals may be able to utilize in order to flatten belly regions plagued by excess flab. The Prone Cobra does not require any external exercise equipment, and sources say it could be beneficial for toning not only the abdominal muscles but also the lower back muscles.

To perform the Prone Cobra, one must lie flat on his or her belly, stretching the arms straight out so that the palms are flat on the floor next to the hips. Tightening the abdominal and gluteal muscles, the individual then lifts his or her upper body up off the floor and lifts his or her arms upward as well, until the thumbs are pointed upward toward the sky. This arched position is to be held for about two seconds. The individual then returns to the original position, repeating the arching routine a certain number of times. The Prone Cobra will not be easy for everyone but those who are able to perform the exercise and who do so regularly might experience noticeable results in terms of their efforts to flatten belly muscles and promote bodily toning.
